It sounds like the garlic flavour has intensified, and going though the early stages cooking or perhaps fermintation? It appears that heat of the garlic has something to do with it.
If you chew the amount of raw garlic the way I do (till you get a stomach cramp) with certain kind of food nothing can get rid of the smell. The smell comes out of the pores on your body even a long morning shower cannot get rid of it as it keeps emitting. I reserve the occasion for only the weekend so I do not stink up the office.
