#9 -- A bag of frozen peas is better than an ice-pack if you need an ice-pack for something.

#11 - I recall an incident where the au pair staying with our next door neighbours cooked dinner for the family, with peas on the side. After they had finished eating it occurred to the father to ask where the peas had come from. 'They were in the freezer', she said. It turned out that the father, who was a rugby player, had a slightly dodgy knee and the peas in question had been his regular ice pack for several months, before making their last but by no means first trip out of the freezer.

How would you know, you don't play rugby or catch large halibut.

"I can't imagine circumstances that would cause me to buy/use frozen vegetables."

There's always plenty of ice to be found at the local sports events all year, we just have to remember the "Zip-Loc" bags to put it in.
