I discovered a great new way perk up frozen veggies. Instead of zapping them in the microwave, which isn't a bad option if you want them steamed, I put them in a glass baking dish, drizzled some olive oil and sprinkled on some Mrs. Dash and grated cheese and baked them at 350f for a good 30-40 minutes.

OMG, what a nice change of pace from zapping them. I thought the veggies would be waterlogged but they weren't and I cooked them frozen right out of the bag. It filled the house with a nice aroma too.

Granted, roasting fresh vegetable is best, but if that's not possible, go with this method.

Oddly enough it's not listed as a cooking method on any of the major brands. They all reccomend microwaving, steaming or boiling.

Roasting also brings out their flavor.

Most frozen vegetables are sold that way for the convenience of being able to prepare them quickly. To go through all the steps you describe, and take so much time in the preparation, doesn't seem like something most of us would want to do. If we were prepared to spend that much time and effort in the preparation we would probably start with fresh vegetables, not frozen.

Excellent suggestion. Thanks. This will be especially handy when making a roast / baked maindish anyway, since I can time all to be done at once. I'm always telling the family "10 more minutes", to find, microwave and plate the steamed vegetables even though the main is done, smelling great and drawing hungry folks to the dinner table.

Take your initial estimate, double that and add 20 percent.
It always takes more time and money than you think it should.

NA, It's a major reduction in prep. I took half a bag of Birdseye frozen broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, dumped it into a Pyrex dish, drizzled on some olive oil. Gave 'em a good shake of Mrs, Dash and shoved 'em in the toaster oven. Turned out superb.

MW, Major flavor upgrade. I know the veggie purists will say that there's nothing better than steamed veggies. They're a treasure etc. and they can be, but sometimes you want to add a little zing.

This is the way to do it.

I wanna buy stock in Mrs. Dash BTW.

What global, multi-national conglomerate manufactures it?

Quite a daisy-chain of company websites. Mrs Dash site indicates Alberto Culver company, Alberto Culver website says: The Alberto Culver Company is now a part of the Unilever Group
and the Unilever Group site says the acquisition completed in May 2011, but doesn't yet show Mrs Dash as one of their food products. Unilever is a European company, with shares available in the USA by a couple of methods. Diced frozen veg is good in stir fries. Before cooking other ingredients wok the froz, pour off any residual water & set aside. Add the veg at the end of the cooking process.

I can't imagine circumstances that would cause me to buy/use frozen vegetables.
