Burger drool

Interest forums / Get Stuffed

I'm craving for a burger now. It's the meat patties that I want. Juicy thick meat patties slathered with ketchup, mustard with the 'works' grilled onions, sliced tomatoes, some gherkin, melted cheese and freshly toasted sesame buns.

Gosh, I love red meat!

Sound OKish - but the mustard and ketchup together just don't work for me, panty-face.

1

Ketchup and mayo taste good too! I'll mixed them up until pretty swirls appear.

2

Yeah, I'm more of a burger purist. I like cheese (Kraft) and that's it.

Ever heard of the burger Nazi? He owns a place in New Haven CT and only serves burgers his way. It's just the burger, toasted bun, that's it, nothing else. If you make a special request he's like "GET OUT!"

3

Burgers with ketchup are so totally wrong.

4

Bix! You must check this out. It's the website of the burger place in New Haven. Notice the symbol towards the bottom?

5

I'm a sauce freak. I like sauces on anything fried, grill or barbequed. And I like that burst of different flavours in the mouth when I take a bite off a complex burger heh!

Hey, there's a burger place that serves patties on toasts. Just patties and toasts! Do you know that place?

6

#1, Fisk is one of my favourite authors/journalists.

7

Yeah, that's the place I just linked SP. They claim to have invented the burger.

8

Ha! I'm cross-eyed.

9

Wow ~~ established 1895! They must know what they're doing. Obviously intelligent people, as shown by the logo.

Thanks for the link, MV. I'm passing it on to a friend of mine who lives in that exotic part of the country.

What is birch beer -- is it root beer? (bet it ain't Barq's!)

OP- Sounds damn good! I make huge burgers on a French roll (half for me, half for th' guy) and slather on mustard & mayo & sprinkle on a little black pepper. I melt some cheese on the patties & afterwards lay on some onions, tomates and jalapenos! Woo-hoo!

11

#11 ~~ now THAT'S a burger.

12

I'm grabbing a burger from BK. I'm desperate.

13

Day before yesterday, we had double cheeseburgers at Cafetería Chió's, in Pátzcuaro. Its a small, neat business connected to the Carnicería La Sin Rival next door. (Husband and wife ownership). You know that the burger meat is ground very fresh and unadulterated with fillers nor inappropriate spices.
They recently raised the price from $20 pesos to $30 pesos, but they are still worth it. The doubles consist of two medium patties, fried a bit crispy, and layered with yellow cheese, lettuce, tomato, ham, bacon, special sauce and chile (on request). I have noted that the burgers are also not as juicy-messy as they were before; that is, I no longer need a fork the finish the second half. We still like them. Soft drinks, Nescafe and freshly squeezed orange juice are available.

Although they have a fryer, they do not offer french fries. ¿Quien sabe?

If any of you every find yourselves in charming Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, México, and are craving a burger, you might try this place. It's on Calle Ibarra, a couple of blocks west of the Plaza Grande, a few doors east of Calle Espejo, on the north side of the street. Closed Sundays.

(We have heard that come evening, on the Plaza San Francisco, excellent burgers are cooked to order. I haven't tried them yet.)
