What I don't understand is why they try to make vegetables look like meat. If people are vegetarians it is because they don't want to eat meat. Why would they then want their vegetables to look like they are eating meat? Can anyone solve this mystery for me? Ta.

This is authentic Japanese food.... served in Chiba-ken north of Tokyo.... Sad to say, I've never eaten 'authentic' Japanese food outside of Japan!

Strikes me that the world if full of non-x chefs doing it better than x chefs - so, fine by me. (Tho' 'exec' chefs I've yet to be convinced about, as a breed.)
