When I was in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania) I often had "African Tea" which was a black tea with interesting spices and milk cooked together. Some of them really had a kick. I can't seem to find a recipe for it now that I'm home. Any ideas?

My favorite web site for African recipes is the Congo Cookbook. (The site, alas, is infested with obnoxious ads).

This looks close to what you want:
Chai The spices are cardamom and ginger.

Yeah too bad about Congo Cookbook-finally had to give it up so much crap attached.

I'll give the Cardamon Tea a try! And, yes, those ads are really annoying. I can't imagine that those ads add enough revenue to make up for the viewers they drive away. Yuck.
