where they help you with accommodation, maybe jobs and flights

Ive been on the real gap year site and they have one but its £6500 is that a good price for that type of trip?

How much did you put away for after a big trip? If any?

Would love to hear some insight from people that have spent a year or two traveling and how the adjustment went while settling down again - if you ever got to that point. I've been working for awhile and considering taking some time off before it becomes more difficult. Not sure how worried i should be about saving for after the trip as well.

Hi

I wrote an article for my uni newspaper which I think would be relevant here, so I'm pasting it below. I spent 6 months travelling in Asia, Australia and the US before starting uni (a pretty standard gap year route) and have used those experiences to write an article which I think provides some pretty good advice to anyone (especially students or other gap year travellers like myself) planning a long trip abroad for the first time.

I used Thorn Tree a lot before I went so I hope someone

this is a re post from another thread and for this I apologize but i leave in less than 2 weeks and am getting concerned that i am going to have to by catastrophic health insurance for 130 dollars a month plus standard travel insurance and i am not looking forward to it as it will take up about 6 months of travel budget.

I am about to quit my job in order to spend a couple of years wandering around the world and am looking for travel insurance (heath and evacuation only).

My question is, do…

I've run into a bit of a problem and need some help..

I am a dual US/UK citizen residing in the US, but my US passport expires in two months (meaning I cannot use it to get a visa). I need to get a Chinese tourist visa for a trip I plan on going on in late January and need to use my UK passport to do so. I am going to London in the next few weeks.. is it possible for me to apply for a Chinese tourist visa in London on my UK passport even if I am not a resident of the UK? Should I just use a…

I am currently planning my round the world trip, and I found out about the Bamba experience in Latin America but I heard everyone say it is not worth the price - overpriced for transport you can book yourself. Same thing for my Europe segment. Looking at the countries I was interested in and the sites I wanted to see, it was cheaper to buy the tickets rather than a interrail pass. So my question is, when do the travel passes ever make sense? Maybe air passes, but would it make sense in buying a…

Hello there

I'm looking to spend about a month volunteering abroad this February. I'd like to work at a wildlife sanctuary and am primarily interested in Thailand but would be open to South and Central America as well.

I'd like to go through a volunteer organization but I'm finding it difficult to sift through the reviews (some of which seem pretty fake) to determine which are the most reputable. I've been looking specifically at Love Volunteers, Frontier, and Global Volunteer Network, so…

Hi all,

I've made the decision to go around the world. Having had a career for the past 3 years, my focus has changed and I'm excited to get out into the big wide world this coming January - i.e. 3 weeks time.

I'm very nervous of travelling independently initially. My decision to leave the UK was made just a few days prior to this post, so I'm lacking understanding of the travelling route, how to meet people etc.

My itinerary from initial thoughts is - 2 weeks West Coast USA San Diago to LA…
