SE Asia Tour: Geckos vs. Gap vs. Intrepid

Hi Nikolee, I am looking to do a tour of Vietnam possibly some other parts of SE Asia, did you end up booking? What was it like? I am a 29 year old solo female who has travelled on her own ans with friends before, looking to fly to SE Asia this April for 3 months taking in Lao,Cambodia,Vietnam,Indonesia,Malaysia ( I have travelled Thailand before) and even tho am happy on my own still want some company at some points so thought a tour of Viet would be good?

I like Intrepid; they still use a lot of local transport, stay in locally owned guesthouses, use overnight trains, and have a great balance of 'planned' and 'free' time. Yes, SE Asia is easy to travel in, but doing a tour also has it's advantages. I'd go Intrepid :)
