Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before.
I have a RTW trip booked going to South America for 6 months and then moving on to NZ, and Asia.
I don't need a visa until after 7 months travelling and I am led to believe the ones I need will have expired by the time I get there, If I get them now (I leave in mid January 08)
I am on UK passport and need a Visa for Myanmar, Vietnam and India. I know I can get visa's in Bangkok but I do not want to get myself in a situation where I have to wait around for a few days while the embassy issues a visa for one country and then go the next t emabassy and wait around for a few days.

Oh the perils of only having one passport!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

So...for vietnam, you can go and get it same day...it costs a bit more for same day service, but if you do it yourself, its not that hard. Plus, one needs a few days in bangkok!! So get it same day and explore bankok. Next day do the myanmar...its a nice idea if you do want to have someone do it for you, to find out how much it is so you can laugh a bit when they try to rip you off!! For example, an indian visa is/was 1700 baht last year but on koh pha gnan, they want 14 days and 3800 baht!! As long as you fly out of bangkok, you can drop the paperwork yourself...its easy...and saves you 50$

On the myanmar, i'm not sure how long it takes, but on the india, you don't actually drop your passport off. Go down, they take photocopies that you provide and then you come back 4-7 days later to pick it up, or longer if you want.. This will take a couple of hours but they stamp your visa then...Remember that the indian visa is good from the time that it is issued, so get it as close to your departure date as possible. ON the indian visa, a multiple and single entry is the same price so make sure you do multiple. This lets you jaunt to sri lanka or nepal or pakistan for example if you wanted to and then come back in. They will NOT let you in if you don't have one ...

Visas in Bangkok are easy. Give it to a travel agent or drop it off at the consulate yourself, and then go to the beach or nearby towns like Kanchanaburi or Ayuthaya for a few days rather than hanging around Bangkok. You can fly on internal flights in Thailand with just a photocopy of your passport.

So basically I just need to turn up at the respective embassies? Or do I need a travel agent to?
Great info. Thank you guys.
