I'm currently saving up for a 6 month trip beginning during the spring of next year (2014). I plan on spending the full 3 months within Europe (Italy, Spain, France, and maybe Austria briefly) before heading south into Morocco (I have a friend there), Egypt, Jordan, Thailand, India etc.
My goal for the trip is to keep it loosely planned, and allow diversion into the culture.. visit local villages/tribes. (Suggestions?)

Here is my current itinerary...
London
(Less than a week)

Morocco (friend is Casablanca and Marrakesh)
$25-30/day
$1000/month

Italy (Friend in Rome and Bologna
$45/day
$1350/month

Thailand
$30/day
$630/3 weeks

Spain (Might have free stay hookups)
$45/day
$1350/month

Jordan
$40/day
$800/3 weeks

Egypt
$30/day
$900/month

India
(how much should I budget 5?)

Also, how should the flights be grouped? What would be the cheapest form of transportation between my destinations? Please suggest anything!

Where are you starting from (where do you live?).

And where do you need to finish?

This is not a RTW by any means, starting from anywhere ;-)

On the grouping...obviously all of Europe together (so London,Italy,Spain)..into Morocco from Spain.

Then you would have to fly Morocco to Egypt.Into Jordan from there.

India and Thailand are far away from Jordan, far apart and very expensive to get to from there....you would have to get back into Europe or fly from Israel or Turkey for best prices I guess.

By that time (summer 2014) it will be monsoon season in India and Thailand too...very hot,and very rainy in most parts. In Egypt and Jordan just extremely hot......

You might be better off starting in Thailand in the spring and getting to Europe in the summer....

Whilst Ethiopia is a great country, that's a bit of a random comment geseil as the OP doesn't mention anything about travelling in Sub-saharan Africa or asking for suggestions of where to go.

OP, As lucapal suggests, on your current itinerary you're going to hit monsoon. Consider maybe flipping the trip on its head?

Maybe Thailand and India first, to avoid the monsoon, then fly to London (could be cheaper than flying to Jordan even though Jordan is nearer). Summer in Europe : France, Austria, Italy, Spain, then into Morocco and onto Egypt and Jordan from there. By the time you get to Morocco, Egypt and Jordan it will be autumn and should be cooler.

Sounds a great trip BTW!

Need to know where you are starting from to give you more detailed flight info.

As suggested above, start in Thailand and India to avoid the monsoon. From there it might work out cheapest to fly to London, do your week in London, then easyjet flight to Jordan. From there you can overland to Egypt, then fly to Morocco, Ferry to Spain, overland to Italy.

Budget looks a little low for Europe, but depends how much of the time you will be staying with friends. Thailand and Jordan budgets are doable, but very tight.

Thank you for the responses! I'm coming from the eastern side of USA.. I'll definitely try to revamp the schedule... Does anyone have any other timing suggestions that start in Europe but end around Asia/India without it being monsoon season?.. lol

I checked the prices from Amman into New Dheli and it's actually pretty cheap.. Generally an average number of 300-400 one way, give or take. Same price from Israel. (Test dating it at July of this year, for an idea..)

Yup, delay the start of your trip.
