Hi everyone.

I'm after a little bit of inspiration so that I can patch up my previously planned RTW trip.

I was supposed to leave at the beginning of October, travel to nepal, india sri lanka (6 months), SE asia (2.5 months) via LAX to Brazil/South america (4 months)

However, I was waiting to get cover for my job which is only just confirmed. I am able to leave December 1st.

I am thinking now to reverse the order round india to SL - India - Nepal so that I can see whales in December and Trek in April/May.

I need to get to Salvador for the 12th June for the World cup.

Can anyone who has done both central asia and South America tell me the CHEAPEST and MOST INTERESTING ways of linking the two continents together.

Options so far

  1. Via KL/Bangkok and LAX
  2. Back to UK then on to Brazil
    .............thats it.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Cheapest..just for the flights...you can find out easily.

Put the two options into a site like Skyscanner (with approx. dates) and it will give you the cheapest prices.

I would guess that the cheapest will be something like Bangkok-Doha (qatar)-Sao Paolo-Salvador.

Most interesting depends on you of course, and what you are interested in ;-)

Also how much time you have...between leaving SE Asia and needing to be in Brazil.

It looks super expensive to go via SE Asia at all.

£1,653 I've got for uk- India - uk - brazil - uk.

When I say interesting I mean things that would involve Thailand/Indonesia/japan/LA but it may be too expensive. I'll go into STA travel and see if they can sort out a cheaper RTW ticket.

I must admit, India-SA-Brazil for £1600 doesn't sound unreasonable to me. but you can probably find cheaper.
