Hi,

I am planning a trip through Europe to Aisa. My priority is visiting tribes and other locals and photoigraphing them in their daily lives in these areas Also to photograph the landmarks for some early morning and sunset photography. I have put together a list of places that I think I should travel to.

Well you'll need a lot of time, but you can visit most of those destinations relatively cheaply.

Are you planning to do this all in one trip, or several trips? Either way, I'd start by getting a world map, and seeing which places can be logically grouped together in one trip, or part of a very long trip.

Love your photos by the way.

China -- we spent two months in China in the spring of 2012. Your selection for outdoor photography and seeing the best Buddha sites is great. However, if you want to see the ethic groups or tribes may I suggest visiting the Miao Villages.

Go to: See http://www.toguizhou.com/html/Tours/CountrysideTours/230.html -- this is very close to the tour we mapped out. We used: billyzhangtour@hotmail.com which was highly recommended by various people on Thorn Tree.

We also spent time in Kashgar in north west China. Kashgar is within 500 miles of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkistan and Kyrgyzstan. It is located 4,170' above sea level but within a day's drive you can be above 10,000. The people here are not of the Chinese ethic majority, Han, but of various asian groups.

Please be aware as spectacular as the Caves at Dunhuang are -- no photographs are allowed and this is strictly enforced. You are not even allowed to take a camera on your tour of the caves.

One of the most beautiful parks in the world is Jiuzhaigou. If you have time and money, recommend visiting.

India -- we spent seven weeks in India five years ago. One area you may want to investigate is the far eastern portion of India -- north and east of Bangladesh. . Assam and especially to the east of Assam has very interesting tribes. I believe this area is open and considered safe for travel -- it borders Myanmar.
