Hi

I am thinking of cycling from England to Asia starting in July 2013. I have not really got a set route but would like to try to stay near the sea and in the sun whilst in Europe. I would also like to see Iran but from there on i am happy to go with the flow.
I am wondering if there is anyone out there who would like a few months on the road seeing new places and people? I am a 37 year old guy and finally got bored with this mundane existance so need to find some adventure.I would look to do it on the cheap camping where ever possible and really just keep on the road until the money runs out. If anyone is heading that way or likes the idea of hitting the road please leave me a message. Martin

Just some things to consider:

There was talk on here of only being given an Iran visa if you fly in, rather than cross land borders.

Pakistan visa (if you choose to go that route) was usually a lot more easy to pick up in your own country (not sure if this is still the case).

Assuming you have a British passport Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan visas are relatively straightforward no LOI needed.

Hi Martin, I might be interested in cycle road trip. I don't cycle much though so could be a disadvantage. I'm from London, and looking to travel from July august time, also quitting the mundane life and getting some long awaited travelling done. Please let me know more details and country route.

Hi there,sorry for late reply . I have not been online for a while. Well i basically just want to head off and travel instead of working to so route is open to suggestions. I really would like to see Iran though ,thats my main objective. I was originally thinking of heading down the Balkans but am in touch with a guy who want sto go down Italy and see the Appian way then get the ferry from Bari to Greece and onwards from there. I am happy doing anything really as long as i am on the road.
I wouldnt worry about the cycling aspect ,its amazing how quick you can get fit once you set off,as long as you can ride a bike you can build up from there!!
