as a very general idea, what do you generally allow as a monthly budget for travelling? Obviously i realise that it will depend greatly on the area, what kind of accomodation you stay in, how many activities you do, how many flights are taken etc; but I would appreciate a very rough idea. Please also say a bit about your general lifestyle whilst travelling on that budget so I can make some comparisons.
Thanks

i personally like to go by the $500au/pp a week rule. I an afford it, and it can be done most anywhere. If you are in Scandinavia maybe its a tight budget, but if in a much cheaper country it affords extra luxuries that you missed out on Scandinavia, and maybe some change at the end of the week too - its swings and round abouts.
$600 to $1,200 a month for much of the world depending on where you are and how you travel, after airfare. Some spend less and I've spent that much in a week at times. If you're traveling solo you'll spend more than if you're sharing rooms and taxis. Western Europe and Japan will kill you though, so budget more for those.
