work in Italy

Country forums / Western Europe / Italy

Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for your replies. I'm moving to Italy for a year and had the brilliant idea the other day of exchanging English/Spanish lessons for hospitality. I posted on Craigslist and saw that others had had the same idea(so much for originality). I have received 0 replies, what do you suggest I do? Has anyone ever stayed with an Italian family? How do I go about advertising my sweet deal?
Hopeful in L.A,
Maritza

I think you would be better off advertising and checking the adverts with Wanted in Rome

I also think your best bet would be a house/flat share with a student or other medium term visitor.

Be warned though, accommodation in the nicer areas of Rome is expensive.

Best of luck

I would say you have very little chance of success with this. I just can't see many Italian families taking a foreigner into their homes, even if they do get free English classes.

You don't even need a work VISA if you call Chris in Amalfi. He got us both work. Free accomodation and about 120 euro a week. Its like being on holiday. Trust us. Call him +39 339 741 0902
