Which is the best period to visit Granada?

Hello , I found out this website and forum as well a couple of days ago and I consider it really useful and interesting . :)
Here is my dilemma.. I'm thinking of traveling to Granada in order to attend a 2-weeks spanish course in a language school. The problem is that I haven't decided yet when should I travel there. The soonest I can is in late October ( let's say from 20th October and on) and the latest is in early January (however,this wouldn't be the best option for me because of university exams held on at the end of January). If you were in my shoes, which period would you choose? Basically,the question is : Autumn or winter is the proper season to visit Granada? gracias de antemano.

Well Granada is at a certain altitude, and it gets pretty cold in winter (it sometimes snows there), and loads of places lack heating, so my preference would be autumn.

I'm with peejee Oct., should be real nice, warm days but not the heat like during summer and not the cold like during winter.

Not winter, because of the climate at that altitude, so autumn.

If you're looking to rent an apartment most of these don't come with proper heating, even though winter temperatures at night are at or below zero during winter. So I'd really go as early as possible.

We went in late November. Too late! The landlord of the place we rented said: 'Granada has only 2 seasons, summer and winter, and winter started last week.' That sums it up.

Maybe for renting properties, but in my experience that wouldn't be a reasonable description of the city as a whole.

Best months to visit Granada are: May, June, September and October - with slightly fewer tourists and lower prices.
