Weather in Switzerland in the month of JuneCountry forums / Western Europe / Switzerland
Hello, I am going to pack my family's luggage on Saturday for our Switzerland trip departing next weekend (11 June). The cities we are visiting and staying overnights are Zurich, Zermatt, Montreux, Wengen. May I know how's the weather there? Our average temperature here (in my country) is like 30 to 33 degree celcius daily, and we are still quite comfortable (as long as it does not go up to 34 or 35!!). Above 24 will be considered cooling to us but below could be cold. Please advise. Thank you.
At least for the first days, you will be cold... in the mountains, slightly better in plains. | 1
Temperatures between 5 and 30 degrees centigrade. Have a look at | 2
In addition to what neckervd said: On mountain tops temperatures can well be below zero, and there is the wind. Yes you need warm stuff as well as summer clothing, and you need rain gear. Never set out in the mountains without a warm sweater and rain jacket in your daypack, the weather can change quickly. | 3
Thank you All. Before this, I was beginning to feel silly to prepare so many warm clothings while perspiring at the same time. Now I am convinced that I really need warm clothings and know what to pack: warm clothings and rain gear! Thanks for all your advices. | 4
Pack some light summer clothes, too. It can be above 30° in the lowlands and it can be unpleasantly hot and humid around the lakes. You'll need a bit of everything. Also pack (or buy in Switzerland) a travel-size tube of washing detergent so you can quickly wash a t-shirt or such in the hotel room sink and wear it again. Pack clothes that can be combined, worn together in layers, or separately. That helps to adapt to changeable conditions without carrying too much stuff. Edited by: BlandineForberg | 5
Hi BlandinForberg, 30° in Switzerland too? Ok noted. Thanks. | 6
Hi Everyone, I am now in Switzerland Wengen. Yes, the weather can be soooo cold and next minute the sun's out and I have to remove my jacket, especially in the mountain. And yesterday it rained and wow thank God I brought along my winter wear though it's summer time here. Thanks all for your advice. | 7
Weather in Valais was fine in the last days. Switzerland is more than the rain belt Gstaad - Interlaken/Jungfrau - Lucerne - St. Gallen/Appenzell | 8
