Like several other posters, I have written that Bordeaux, in southwestern France, is not a particularly interesting place. However, now that it has been listed as a Unesco Heritage site, some of you might be interested in these evening guided visits to the principal illuminated monuments of the area in question.
I read from a few posters how Bordeaux wasn't worth it of a visit but I had a great time in there and in St Emilion. We ended up extending our trip and losing our flights to Provence, and Amsterdam in favor of Bordeaux. | 1
I totally agree with you guys!! I'm from Bordeaux, that might be why !! lol | 2
I have been travelling (and working) around Europe for the last year and a half. I've spent the last 3 weeks in a small town south of Bordeaux and can I just say that this region, Aquitaine, has a lot to offer! It's beautiful! Beyond the wine, there's the amazing local food (especially duck and tonnes of seafood... not keen on the cannelés though), fabulous surf beaches, the Dune de Pyla, lovely old fortified towns (like St Emillion) and the French part of Basque Country to name a few. Aquitaine is definitely worth a visit! Edited by: najube | 3
