Two nights / one day on CorfuCountry forums / Western Europe / Greece
We are travelling around the Balkans in August and will end our trip with two nights and one full day on Corfu. We are looking for a beautiful sandy beach that isn't absolutely rammed with people. Any recommendations?

I should say we could stay anywhere on the island and we won't have a car! | 2
In August? Uncrowded Greece...hmm | 3
I know :) Maybe I should say 'less crowded'! | 4
Steve, I answered this question earlier and then deleted it because I was afraid of giving you a beach you wouldn't like. Greece in August...particularly Corfu...is wayoutback says... I've stayed in the town of Agios Gordios years ago, and it was quiet enough. Even though the infamous Pink Palace party hostel is also located there, they actually contain their parties within the hostel, so the rest of the town seemed quite sleepy. The whole island's coastline is dotted with beachy coves, almost all of which have a town that has hotels and tourists...they will probably all be the same. Paleokastritsa, maybe? Paleokastritsa is a beautiful place, but also known. IMO, as long as you stay away from the town of Kavos, you'll be fine. You may also want to check out the nearby Epirus coast which is very similar to Corfu's. There's the towns of Syvota and Parga which have become very touristy, but the town of Karavostasi between them, maybe? Although this coast is beginning to become touristy, thanks to nearby Preveza airport, but maybe not yet at the level of Corfu. | 5
Corfu is very touristy and very busy especially in the high season. My favourite less crowded beach was Agios Stefanos (on the eastern side near Kalami/Kaloura). It's a cosy small bay beach with tavernas that have jetty's where you can dine on. I found Nissaki beach also nice and the area around Paleokastritsa up north. | 6
Hi all. Anybody to know how to apply for Russian speaking in Greece? | 7
