Travelling Italy in Two WeeksCountry forums / Western Europe / Italy
Hi All, | ||
This question is way to open. What are your interests? Do you love art? Are you more into cities or rural? Are you a history buff? Do you like to party? | 1
Well, one thing is certain...you can't miss Naples!! Trains leave from Termini station almost every hour and you can get the slow train for 13/14 euros (check the website www.trenitalia.com). I suggest getting off at Mergellina station, not at the central station (or Piazza Garibaldi which is the same station). Also, avoid booking a hotel in the train station area (common mistake among tourists travelling to Naples). In general, i recommend getting around by train, if you book in advance you can get very good deals, especially from Rome going north (check the link to TrenOK on the above website). I'm from Naples but I live in Rome, if you have questions on either cty feel free to ask! | 2
I went for the first time last year and went the opposite direction, but started in Venice. It really depends on what you want to see and what your interests are. Venice is a must see because it's so unique, Florence is underrated and was just awesome, for food and art lovers, Rome was so huge and wonderful for history, Sorento on the Amilfi Coast was from a postcard and Pompeii was amazing for history as well. | 3
