Hello - anyone have any idea about the easiest (and most direct) way to get from Vienna Airport to Budapest?

It depends on the arrival time.
There are some direct buses (Vienna Schwechat airport dp 11.15, 14.45, 16.30, 17.15, etc.
At certain times of the day it makes sense to take a bus or a taxi to Bruck an der Leitha railway station and to go on from there
and at other times it's easier to travel via Vienna.

Or you could fly direct with Austrian airlines...
