Travel in March and AprilCountry forums / Western Europe / Greece
Hi, I am spending end Feb to 24 March in Egypt and am thinking of adding a month and a half seeing Greece and Turkey. The plan is to fly to Istanbul then overland through Turkey, crossing over from Marmaris to Rhodes then onto Crete. Given that I would be arriving in Istanbul at the end of March what is the likelihood of this being way to cold a time of year to see the sights.
You intend to go from Istanbul to Gallipoli - Troya - Pergamon - Izmir - Ephesos - Didimae - Priene - Milet - Marmaris - Rhodos - Sitia (Crete). This interesting itinerary can be done without any problem. Göreme is completely offside. The best among the bad solutions would be to go from Istanbul by bus/train/low cost flight to Ankara and from there to Nevsehir - Göreme and back to Istanbul. | 1
