Travel in March and April

Hi, I am spending end Feb to 24 March in Egypt and am thinking of adding a month and a half seeing Greece and Turkey. The plan is to fly to Istanbul then overland through Turkey, crossing over from Marmaris to Rhodes then onto Crete. Given that I would be arriving in Istanbul at the end of March what is the likelihood of this being way to cold a time of year to see the sights.

I would like to see Gallipoli but not for Anzac Day. My other main interest is a week in Goreme but as yet I haven't found the best way to get from the coast, say, Epheseus to Goreme and then Goreme to Marmaris.

Also is Pamukkale really worth the detour these days. I'd really appreciate any advice, especially in relation to going inland to Goreme early April. Thanks

You intend to go from Istanbul to Gallipoli - Troya - Pergamon - Izmir - Ephesos - Didimae - Priene - Milet - Marmaris - Rhodos - Sitia (Crete). This interesting itinerary can be done without any problem. Göreme is completely offside. The best among the bad solutions would be to go from Istanbul by bus/train/low cost flight to Ankara and from there to Nevsehir - Göreme and back to Istanbul.
If I were you, I would either skip Göreme or organise a Syrian visa and fly from Alexandria for 200 Euros to Aleppo (www.airarabia.com, Alex dp 24.2. 2.05, Sharjah 7.25/8.50 Aleppo ar 10.25). From there you could go by bus to Antakya - Adana and reach Göreme from the South.
