| ahibster20:58 UTC04 Apr 2007 | Hi there you lovely Travelling People
I am getting married (Eeek) last week of May and am heading to the quiter end of the Amalfi Coast to start my honey-moon. After a few days there, I am looking at going to a beautifil, terribly romantic Island - that has a nice mixture of beautful beaches, good resturants and lovely people. Someone has recommended Elba, but as i am down Amalfi way, is there a better, more romantic option in that region ??
Your thoughts, ideas and insights would be warmly recieved.
Andy

Happy travels!!!

| myhero23:50 UTC05 Apr 2007 | Hi Andy, I used to live in Salerno at the southern end of the Amalfi coast and know the area fairly well. Capri is a beautiful island but is very small, very expenside, very touristy and does not have any beaches. The 2 towns of Capri and Anacapri are up high but have beautiful views along the bay of naples and amalfi coast. If you are looking for a beautiful hotel where you can spoil yourself, I recommend this hotel. I gave my friends a wedding present of a stay in this hotel and they have never stopped talking about it.
Palazzo Sasso Hotel in Ravello
Ischia is also beautiful island near to the amalfi coast. Here is a link to an amazing castle hotel
Albergo Il Monastero - Ischia
The amalfi coast is not known for it's beaches. Most are small and stony. If you want beautiful sandy beaches, you may need to travel a bit further south along the coast between Paestum, Castellabate and Palinuro. Here you have the golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Paestum has fantastic greek/roman temples and Agropoli has a fabulous old town perched on a headland.
If I can be of any help, just let me know.
Best of luck for the wedding.
In bocca al lupo!
Jared.
