TER train Annecy to LyonCountry forums / Western Europe / France
I noticed that train on this route are regional TERtrains that do not take reservation bookings. We will need to take a train from Annecy to Lyon on a particular day. from your experience, can the mid-morning trains be very crowded? We will travel with large luggage.
I'd be very surprised if you have trouble getting on the train - crowded usually means you may have to stand up for a short distance. If you are a party of ten all with large luggage, perhaps you can spread yourselves over a few carriages but I still think you'll be fine. | 1
Yes ... we have not done a huge amount of European rail travel, but we have done Annecy > Lyon, and I have no recall at all of it being crowded mid morning. At each end of each carriage, most European trains have luggage storage areas. BTW I trust you're visiting Chamonix ... the Aiguille du Midi cable car up the Mont Blanc mountains is simply outstanding. | 2
TER 17948 originates at Annecy. It will be completely empty when it will be put on the platform and then fill up more and more until the departure time. I don't think that it will be crowded even then. | 3
