Suggestions on Hotels in Paris

Country forums / Western Europe / France

We are an Indian couple on our first visit to Europe..we will be in Paris from four nights in the second week of May, 2007(11th-15th May). We are looking for budget hotels-- clean places to stay with ensuite bath in easily accessible areas. I have shortlisted the following
1. Ibis Gare du Nord La Fayette,
2. Best Western Saint Lazare, and
3. Residence Appart'Austerlitz

Can I request reactions from any travellers who have stayed at any of these places..
Thanks,

There are 55 Ibis hotels in Paris, so you might want to examine some of the other ones. Some of them are modern and built completely in the international Ibis module (not very interesting but quite practical) and others are older classic hotels converted into an Ibis -- these can have both pleasant and unpleasant surprises due to the existing structure: larger than normal rooms and/or bathrooms, or rooms with a window facing a wall. If you haven't already examined the Ibis site, you should do so. There are often extremely good rates for certain internet bookings.
