I agree that you need to do some research.

Anyone can give you a list of typical places...indeed,the Internet is full of those.

Anyone who has travelled in Europe can also give you a list of the places that THEY liked.

Neither of those is particularly useful IMHO.Better to do your own research, make a rough itinerary, post it here.

Then you should get some more useful feedback...

Personally I'd start with a guidebook.Or read through the past itinerary posts on here...

See what appeals to you and what is feasible in your timeframe.

Don't forget to add travel days...it takes time to get from one place to another, especially if they are far apart.

BTW if you do that, and repost your possible itinerary...it's useful to include some details of your interests, your budget (unless unlimited ;-)and how you intend to get from one place to another.

Your definition of "completely hysterical" is in itself pretty hysterical, coalcliff.

Some of us who live in Europe used to be tourists, too, and have a pretty comprehensive idea of what that's like. And it does involve having some idea of WHY you choose certain places and what you want to do when you get there and how to move around. And none of that changes once one actually lives in Europe. Having no idea where you're going or why or how to get from place to place isn't a science peculiar to tourists. Whether you live here or not it's kind of mandatory if you want to visit anywhere and have a satisfactory experience.

Some of the European-based regulars on here can go completely hysterical if you haven't got everything worked out

Hoping for something a little more specific than the names of 6 countries isn't exactly asking anyone to get "everything worked out." Wouldn't you agree, Coalcliff?

It would be most enlightening if you could link to some of the "completely hysterical" posts you reference.

Or you could just admit you're grossly exaggerating.
Which is to say: lying. And I don't see how that helps anyone.

Some regulars like to heap it all over the OP if they get half a chance

And some regulars like to heap it all over other regulars.
Even if they have to mis-represent the truth to do so.
