Hi everyone,

Im going to Spain for 2 1/2 weeks in September, and of course I want to go to all the amazing places. But I really want to go where the locals go. I usually find they know the best places to go. If anyone has any ideas or any places that you know about please let me know.

Thanks

Barcelona's alright. So is Madrid. Guadalajara can be missed though.

From the introduction to this branch:
Research before asking a question. It will help you get better, more detailed and useful answers from the community if you've already done some homework. It's also polite. The community is here to help, but we're not your personal search engine. Invest some preliminary time and we'll help you fill in the gaps

Please be more specific:
What are "all the amazing places"? Spain has more of those than you can physically fit into a 2,5 week itinerary.
What do you mean by "where the locals go"? A lot of locals I knew recommended the Mercadona, but that doesn't hold much of interest for the average tourist even though I found it fairly cheap myself.
What are you interested in? What you consider "the best" places may be opposite of what I think of them.

Thanks.

Mercadona is a super mkt.
{:)

Locals go to the north coast. In droves.
Barcelona is way out on a stem. The circuit is usually Cadiz (first city west of Asia Minor {Istanbul} founded by the Phoenesians. 1103 b.c.

Granada (seing the Alhambra is not a law. I liked the Royal Chapel and museum, within.

Seville->can be a four dayer. Hot as Hell though.

Madrid and day trips.

Sorry about your airline woes. Can they change it for later return? Rt is not law either.

Always get a little map from your desk clerk. Much better than trying to find your stuff, on a big city map. Or if you forget the name of this time's hotel.

Rule of threes; Stay three nights in each lodging- gives you two COMPLETE days to gawk. Travel days are all day.

chill, my son.

Eat at little mom and pop cafés in paved alleyways. Its where locals pay no tourist prices. Or Kabob shops.

Speaking of the little hostel map. Streets change names, about every three hundred yards. So a city map can be torture.

"But I really want to go where the locals go. I usually find they know the best places to go"

not exactly! For example a local from Madrid might not know good places to go in Andalucia. And a local from Andalucia would never go to some very touristic places but you would really want to go for them.
I am not a local but Spain is full of amazing places and you won´t make them in 2 or 3 weeks. Definatly don´t miss Andalucia and Barcelona. I enjoyed very much a trip to Asturias and Galicia
