Palermo,20° today...cloudy but warm enough for November.
This weekend it will be (finally)olive picking time......

Seen on TV yesterday you have had very strong clouds deeply hanging over Sydney. Is this normal or rare?
We got sunshine each day the past week and up to 25°. Only nights shows with 3/5° that the Winter (or just Winter without "the"?) must come.
the Winter (or just Winter without "the"?) must come.
In most cases just "winter" is good enough (without the, and without a capital W), but "the" is not incorrect:
- Most of our rain falls in winter. (totally correct)
- Most of our rain falls in the winter. (less common, but not incorrect)
Also, "must come" would normally be "must be coming" (soon).
Spring is unstable in Australia, with decent storm systems (with rain hopefully) moving west to east over Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney. Sydney has a mix of wonderful Mediterranean weather, with a bit of funky semi-tropical thrown in ... pretty good. Very rare for it to drop to 3° or 5°.
They published the same photos here in Italy. ..spectacular clouds over a Sydney beach.
It looked like a giant tsunami. ...
Here is one pic of the shelf-cloud phenomenon. Yes - that is pretty rare ... what amuses me is the nonchalance of the punters still in the water ... what did they think was about to happen?
