Enschede: 18 Celsius, raining all day. Tomorrow 28 Celsius and sun.
(Good example about unpredictability for a recent poster):

Sao Paulo: idem dito. Though I'm not there, unfortunately.

Thomas...we will see how it goes! I won't be there before September anyway,so it might have calmed down by then.

If not I will divert to somewhere a bit quieter (like Beirut,or Baghdad ;-)

Bonn, Germany: Under the same rain cloud yesterday as Enschede. Hard persistent rain for over 36 hours triggered a warning. The Rhine's probably jumped up quite considerably as a result. Today the weather is improved, the sun is out and we're gearing up towards the world cup final on Sunday.

Bad luck to the Dutch last night. Not quite sure what happened there apart from not a lot.

That was a very poor match, between two very ordinary teams.

I was watching in a bar in Zagreb.....after about 20 minutes all the Croat guys around me agreed that it would be 0-0 and penalties, and that whichever team went through would be murdered by the Germans ;-)

Yesterday: much rain, coming from ... Germany!
So a big cooling down as a herald to the 'big match'.
It was poor indeed. But today the sun will return, going up to 30 degrees.

Going off-topic? OK.
Fwoggie and luca, the pro of the result: There will be no new religion in the Netherlands. 55 is enough. Thanks Argentina for preventing Louis van Gaal appointing himself as god.
Good luck to the German team. They're the best. (and I had the privilege to meet Thomas Müller some time ago, close to Allemagne, a village in the Provence.
Coincidence doesn't exist.
End of offtopic. (lack of snow is the reason)

Bright and sunny at the moment but much colder than one can expect in July in Italy (I agree with the reference to impredictability made above ). Strong winds and storms yesterday morning after a start like today. Northern Italy lakes and rivers are full to the brim, and snow at 2000 mt is expected for tonight on the Alps.

Leaving for a long weekend in Courmayeur tomorrow afternoon.

PS As I finish writing, it isn't bright anymore.
My children are flying to Berlin on Sunday morning. The three of them couldn't care less for football, hope they find it amusing to be in the midst of World Cup celebrations...

One more nice day but without the wind we got untill yesterday. And as said by our weathergod on TV last night nothing will change untill sunday.

Luca, try Kidal if time for. Legions of strangers from France are there and it looks quiet too.
Arie, I am sure the guy you meet inside the Provence knows also about the privilege he has had to spend a moment with you.

Back in Toulouse where it's 21° and cloudy, still windy from the north. Really quite unseasonal for here, but I won't complain since I don't like heat.

Bonn just got issued with a severe thunderstorm warning. I took a look on the rain radar; there's a big massive purple (not even dark blue) blob heading straight for us. Will get here about 11:30pm tonight. Dead annoying, I bet it comes with a load of thunder and lightning just as I want to sleep.

Mamma mia, Mamma mia, Mamma mia let me go...

Has been raining continuously for the last 3 days. Going up to 30 everyday, dropping to 24-25 at night, but humidity is uniformly high.
