Hello All, Travel from Mumbai to Rome 5th April 2019 Would budget around 100euro per day for stay food and travel.
Hi, Your budget is quite low though for a stay in a capital city. Only in hostels you could possibly find something that cheap - but it would be very basic, i.e. a bed in a shared dorm. To travel between the cities choose low cost airlines and book early. Rome/Paris could be done by fast train, changing in Milan, but it would be slower than the flight and not cheaper. If you are not running in Paris, just drop it and divide your time between Rome and Vienna; both city offer a lot to do and see. | 1
Welcome to the forum. Is there no-one else from India doing these 2-3 marathons that you can team up with? Your budget per day really means a dorm bed in a hostel, unless you can do the research and find modest single rooms in people's Airbnb properties. Are you familiar with HI-YHA hostels ... they're pretty good. Are there any websites or forums for these events? People who have done it previously, or are part of that community, who are willing to share their experience? Tickets for trains between Rome and Paris, and then Paris to Vienna, become available (often at discounted prices) 90 days ahead of your date. But cheap discount airfares might be much better - again, bought in advance. | 2
Around the time of marathons you need to book it now. I am surprised you already know you have a place this far in advance. | 3
