Portugal - surf in Peniche or Ericeria?

Hi

I'm going to Portugal in August and would like to spend a week surfing. I am an improver/intermediate and am searching for a good camp. Portugal is full of surf camps and I'm struggling to make a decision. Essentially I am looking for the following:

1. Surf camp located near the beach so you can surf "outside" of class (I get the impression that if you're based in Peniche you need to rent a car in order to get access to the beaches or move up to places like Baleal)

2. Some decent bars and restaurants

3. Located in a nice part of the country (I intend on renting a car for a couple of days and touring around)

Perhaps I'm asking for too much!

Ericeira is a good choice.
Also Lagos and Sagres in the Algarve.
