overnight layover in viennaCountry forums / Western Europe / Austria
I have a layover from 10:30 pm to 7:30 am in Vienna on a Sunday night. Is it worth trying to leave the airport (assuming I'm alone but also capable of staying up all night)? Also wondering whether the trains and such to and from the airport run 24 hours. Any suggestions much appreciated.
buses/trains aren't running 24 hours, but until midnight and also early in the morning schedule You can definitely party all night long in Vienna! | 1
Well I'd certainly say it's worth a go as long as you have the stamina...)) The transport options to the airport don't run 24 hours but they do start off very early...According to LP the bus runs from 5.30am, the high-speed (and expensive) CAT from 5.37 and probably your best option the S7 kicks off at 4.35 so you shouldn't have any problem... | 2
Vienna is worth being seen, even/especially at night. Just take the S7 to go to the station "Rennweg", which is the closest to the city centre (about 5-10 mins to walk). It will take you about 30 mins to go there, and the cost is only 3 EUR one way (you'll have to select "2 zones" at the ticket machine). | 3
