Karpathos... where to stay etc....?

Arriving in soon ,mid May , and would appreciate any tips on hotels and places to visit etc.

Karpathos is a unique island
I made it last year.

Try to stay in PIgadia although its not so picturesque but it is more lively, especially in May when is not peak season.

And rent a car and wander around
Dont miss the northern part (diafani and Olympos)
Its unique in Greece too

Cheers gaucho......we are in Pigadia now. It seemed quiet at first but then in the evening suddenly the streets were busy. Have a car for a week and liked Ag.Nikolas so much we booked in to the Glaros hotel .

NIce to hera that you have a good time.
Do not miss the northern part. On the way to the northern part you will find a splendid beach called Apelas i think.
The second beach (behind a small hill) is unbelievable.
But do not eat in the only restaurant above. the food is bad and expensive. And the ower rude. Its the kind of persons that i would like not to exist in Greece (i talk like a greek.
I am trying to remember where we ate real greek tasty food. It was somewhere 5km out of PIgadia.
I will remember and I ll come back to you.

I rememberd the Taverna.
its Marinas Taverna . Its on the sea way
of the town of karpathos at the real end of it, on the way to Apella
You should try it.

Will try to get there.....so many great places. So little time! Even here in Diafini we are
Dining so well. La Gorgona is excellent and Glaros at Ag.Nikolas beach was great!
