How to plan a France tour in a week time? Please help

I am from India and I am on a budget of exact 1600 Euros and have a total 8 days. Can i explore both Switzerland and France in this budget and time? If not, can I see and explore the whole of France in the same?
Also, If I choose France, what are the tourist destinations that I can visit. I am not looking for wildlife or sports... I am more into touring, sightseeing and stuff. I only know about Paris and Eiffel Tower.

With the money you could do both, but not with the time you have, 8 days are not enough to see France proper so adding another country doesn't make much sense.

Paris is a good starting point, if you only want to see the Eiffel tower and the major tourist sights in Paris you need at least 3 nights, that really means rushing through Paris to tick off the list.

Not to far from Paris is the Loire valley with all the chateaux's, that might be a good choice if you fly in and out of Paris, other than that you have the Provence, Camargue, the Vosges, the Auvergne and the mediterraininen coast as major tourist destinations in France.

Your budget seems ok for normal hotels, food and cheap train, bus or planes between different destinations. Except the plane from/to India of course.

You can see a teeny tiny part of France or Switzerland with that budget. What would be your arrival and departure points?
