hostels in berlin

does anyone know which hostels are closer to tegel airport in berlin?

why do you want to stay in a hostel in tegel?! going there from a central part of berlin takes no more than 1 hour (or less) and the subway goes almost 24 hours.

the Ubahn does NOT go there at all, and the busride from the main street Ku-damm takes even less as 30 mins. NO hoStels nearby in fact.

True, the last bit into the airport area is by bus, the quickest busconnection (ca. 5 min) imho being X9 or 109 from Jakob-Kaiser-Platz (U7-metrostation). Those busses go 24 hours (according to the BVG-24_Stunden_Netz Plan). The U7 stops between ca. 12:30/ 1:00 a.m. and starts again ca. 4:30 a.m. During that time you can use the nightbusses (N7, every half hour) instead.
To find your best connection, go to www.bvg.de and fill in your starting point (it even works with street names, easier are metrostations) in the first field and airport tegel in the second one.

Best connections to Tegel airport are the express buses X9 and TXL.
Thus it would be also the best to look out for hostels close to these bus lines.
X9 goes to Zoo station. There is the AO Hostel am Zoo. However not exactly the best hostel Berlin has on offer.
TXL goes via Hauptbahnhof, Reichstag to Alexanderplatz.

A well connected hostel is important (most are). If it's really 20 minutes more or less to Tegel airport is not that important in my view.

The hostels closest to Tegel are probably the ones in Charlottenburg. For example there is a big one (A&O) next to the train station Zoologischer Garten. From Tegel you can take the bus X9 or 109 to get there.
