From Dinkelsbuhl to Nordlingen

Country forums / Western Europe / Germany

Hello guys,

Can anybody help me out on this? I would like to move from Dinkelsbuhl to Nordlingen on Sat evening or Sun morning/noon in December. After checking the VGN timetable, I came up with nothing. Is there really no public transportation running the route in this specific times? How much should it cost for taxi? I suppose I can find a taxi on Sun noon time as the last option.

Thank you in advance.

It looks like there are busses http://www.vdr-bus.de/fahrpl_pdf/schwarzer/501.pdf

If it isn't in http://www.bahn.com , there probably is no public transportation as it should cover almost all buses and trains in Germany.

Does not look good. Bahn.de shows connections taking ridiculous 3,5 hours (it is 30 km !) with several changes and also ridiculous prices. The VGN-page given by user regards does show no connection between SAT 1335 and SUN 1703.

So taxi might well be an alternative to thumb. Taxi prices outside city limits are freely negotiable, dont ride metered, it will become more expensive. You probably end up with something around 50 Euro to 60 Euro.

I also think I may eventually taking the taxi. But 60 euros? I'm no sure I will do it. Will try to re-route if I can stay in the towns during weekdays.

Thanks for all the information and advice, anyway.

Something peculiar going on with bahn.hafas.de...when I first searched your query for Sat/Sun, 7/8 December, I was getting the usual bus connections with a couple of each on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, direct buses taking 45/55 minutes...when I went to narrow it down to 'cut and paste' the info in here for you, they have disappeared and now only those 3-4 hour detours...

I'd keep an open mind and try it agin in the next few days to see what it comes up with...maybe e-mail the Tourist Offices in Dinkelsbuehl and Noerdlingen, as well...
