Ferry to Morocco - Tarife or Algeciras?

I want to spend 2 nights in either tarife or Algeciras before getting the boat to Morocco, Any suggestions? I am in Marbella now. Thanks!

Tarifa for me nice laidback vibe, and lovely old town. Algeciras is a port town.
