Easter accommodation in Sardinia

A friend and I are flying to Alghero, Sardinia on Monday, and we've heard that as it is Easter Monday there is a festival (ah, that'll be why the flights were cheap...).

We get in early, so were planning on moving on quite quickly - does anyone know whether the buses and trains will be running, or if not where we might be able to get a decent hotel nearby? We're hoping to be hotelling rather than hostelling, but we're not in the 4* category...
