Car Hire

Country forums / Western Europe / Portugal

I see that car hire Auto Europe advertised specials and that Portugal is $20 a day and Spain is £11 per day - is this indicative of the differences in prices: because I am travelling in both coutries and, if its cheaper in Spain, I shall rather fly into Spain than Portugal.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks

It might be easier for us benighted Europeans to judge this if you quoted prices in €s rather than unusable $s or £s.

It was just advertised on my gmail address and it was in £`s - so slightly less I guess

GBP 11 is just over $17 (I assume you mean USD rather than any other $), so that means you will choose to decide your travel plans based on saving $3 per day.

I've seen ways of saving money whilst travelling, however that one leaves me speechless...

And considering fuel price, toll-roads etc
And I suppose these are basic prices without insurance and some surprise the fineprint might offer...
PS. Fuel is cheaper in Spain than Portugal.

With AE i only check the rates with 'refundable excess' or 'no excess', everything else is included: all taxes, second driver, unlimited mileage.

Patricia, do check autoeurope.ie as well, you can book from any home country you want.
