Best/Cheapest Hire car companies

Hello,

I have heard of Hertz and Eurocar, but wondering if there are any reliable cheap car rental companies in Germany with a good reputation?

US companies Hertz, Avis and Budget as well as French Europcar and German Sixt are the most common. From the States autoeurope.com and gemut.com are often chosen for Germany and the rest of Europe. There are also a lot of local companies in the big cities reachable over the resp. yellow-pages.

Where do you want to rent the car? And where do you want to return it?
I'd also suggest to have a look at the smaller local agencies - they often have much better prices.
