Andalucia Ideas?

Hi everyone,

We are planning a trip to Andalucia for the beginning of May. We are flying in to Malaga next Monday (4/28) and leaving Thursday (we are toying with a day trip to Nerja and maybe some other areas)
Then we fly out of Seville on the 6th of May.
We are looking for a combination of history/sites (because who isn't when you go to Southern Spain) but also some down time in which we can relax, maybe go hiking in one of the national parks, etc. We thought about doing two nights in Granada to see the Alhambra, but it's all sold out, except for night tickets. My questions: Is the night tour of the Alhambra worth it? You either get to see the palaces or the gardens, not both. If we don't do that, should we still stay in Granada or opt to stay in one of the national parks (like Sierra Nevada) and go hiking instead? We live in Florida, so we don't get to see mountains too often.

I'd also like to stay in Seville for 3 days, because I have yet to meet someone who doesn't love it. Any recommendations on neighborhoods to stay in?

If you want to visit the Alhambra on your travel dates, I would suggest to get an Alhambra Experiences ticket (still available) that allows you to visit the Nasrid Palaces by night and the Generalife and the Alcazaba next day on daytime. You could use the rest of your time in Granada to visit other sights of the city (Granada isn't just the Alhambra).

On the other hand, if you prefer to go hiking or enjoy the mountains, leave the city of Granada for other trip and choose a village/town on the Alpujarras as a base to hike in Sierra Nevada National Park.
