We have a group of 8 people.....4 adults and 4 children....looking for reasonably priced accommodations for one night in June. I have checked the Jungfrau Campgound and you have to stay a minimum of 2 nights. Valley Hostel and Schutzenbach campgound are showing no availability. I don't know if it is because we are only wanting to stay one night or if early June is too early in the season. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

I will be in Zermatt this summer for about 8 days with my girlfriend. We would like to find nice authentic and romantic Swiss accommodations in town, somewhere with a view (I'm sure not hard to find), and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our budget is around US $200/night for accommodations.

We plan on hiking every day, as well as skiing one morning. We will be arriving in Munich and taking a train to Zermatt, then flying out of Geneva (taking a train there, too)…

I'm looking for a nice 3 day hiking route with 2 overnight stays in mountain huts.

Departure & arriving Crans Montana area (preferred).

Any suggestions?

My husband and i are going to Egypt and have a 24 hour layover in both Switzerland (first) and Germany (coming back). W'ed like to get a short-term Visa in order to go into both countries for a short period of time. Is the Schengen Visa the best for this. If so, how do I apply for one? Do i need to go to a Swiss consulate in America since that is the first European country on the list? A couple websites i read are saying I need a bank statement and also travel insurance? is this true? Any help…

Heading to the alps in March...will be in Zermatt between the 8th and 12th of March, and then Chamonix between the 12th and 16th.

i am traveling to switzerland June second week for my honeymoon for 10 nights. I figured i will need to buy the swiss pass. i also came across something called the swiss peak pass. is this pass much different from from the normal swiss pass? is the swiss peak pass needed? or is it recommended?

Also we have one night two days where we can do fit in some of the non regular stuff. any recommendations? or ideas? something like perhaps a village stay?

Hi, My husband and I are planning on being in Switzerland, starting in Basel on Oct 19. We have 13 days to tour and then would like to wind up in Venice for an additional three days, then to Rome to catch a Transatlantic Cruise back to Ft Lauderdale. I was issued a Schengen visa 'C' valid till February 16th, 2014 with a duration of stay of 6 days. My nationality is Indian. So when I was issued the visa my itinerary started from the US 12th of December. I left the States on 12th Dec 2013 and reached Geneva on 15th of December. So on my passport, the entry stamp date is 15th December and I Ieft to India via Zurich on 17th December.

So I have two questions:
1) Since the Schengen visa is issued from start date of the itinerary to the end…
