My husband and I are heading on the Golden Pass line soon, and ending up in Luzern. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of things to see/do in Luzern while we're there? We'll prob stop 1-2 days.
Also, if anyone can recommend a decent B&B there, max 120 Sw. francs, that'd be great.

Is it possible (and cheap) to just work it out when we get there or is this not reccommended?

we are a family of 2 adults with 14 and 12 yr old children and are having a hard time finding a reasonably priced place to stay near Geneva/Geneva airport. we have early morning flight and wanted to be able to stay nearby to make the morning easier. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Rec'd a bit of a shocker when I checked airfares from midwest U.S. to Geneva for November (close to $1k per person RT)
In general, what has been your experience re: times of year for best airfares?
Is it better to fly into a different city, then use an alternative transportion to Geneva?

Is there a bus down the western side of the lake that would take you to Stresa? Would like to visit the islands.
I've looked at lots and lots of sites, including the Cisalpino site, but somehow can't find exactly what the fare would be to travel by train from Basel to Milan. I've found a couple of discussions elsewhere giving prices ranging from 95 to close to 200 Euros. Not sure yet 1st or 2nd class (probably 2nd). How's the scenery along the way? We'd be traveling in mid-September. Thanks!
I'm coming from the South of France and flying home from Geneva in a few weeks on an early flight. Can anyone suggest a decent place to stay which has easy access to the airport? I'd far rather get up early and stay in town, than stay at the airport itself, but I dont know Geneva at all. Budget is up to 75 euros, more if necessary. Thanks
