Hi,

I am planning on visiting Zurich in May next year, and wanted to clarify some things.

1) i wanted to find out if its a good idea to rent a car to travel around Zurich and the swiss country? I have heard that rental companies are really bad the Europe and charge you extensively. Also if known what's an average daily charge (insurance inc) for a auto car there?

2) I was planning to travel to either Germany or France (Paris), i am travel with my wife, so can you please suggest which one is…

Hi,
Next week we (male 38, female 32) planned a 4-day hike trip. We are fit, experienced hikers but not alpine climbers. Is the following trip feasible? By car to Sion, then by bus to Les Rousses and short hike to Cabane des Audannes, next day hike to Wildstrubelhütte, day 3 hike to Lammerenhütte, last day short hike to Leukerbad and bus to our car in Sion or longer hike to Montana and bus to our car. We already booked our 3 nights but could still change/cancel if necessary. Other advice also…

Hi,

I need to buy a return ticket Zurich airport-St. Moritz. I would prefer buy it at the station, but I was wondering whether online tickets are cheaper than the ones bought in the station.

Many thanks for your help,

Paola

Can you hike the haute route in the summer without ropes and harness. Will an ice axe and crampons be suffifient.
Also, does anyone know how to get a piece of luggage from Chamonix to Visp (base of Zermatt) inexpensively.

Hello All,

I and my wife are going to be in Switzerland for a total of 6 days beginning September 14th through September 20th. We love nature, want to enjoy hiking/biking and basically are looking for a nice romantic holiday; We aren't too big on cities/museums and would want to devote time seeing nature's work.

Here is the proposed itinerary..

Sept 14 - Arrive in Basel via night train from Amsterdam; Head over to Luzern and then take a Golden Round trip to Pilatus before leaving for Murren…

A group of us are going to Switzerland at the end of October (17 adults and 8 children). We're going to Lauterbrunnen (near Interlaken) Arriving at Zurich Airport a little late for the train and there are too many changes to make it feasible with so many children. I'm thinking that hiring a coach would be the best thing to do but the prices we'v ebeen offered seem very expensive - any suggestions for good companies or other ways of getting there?

diving in ticino

i am going to ticino for the last two weeks of july and would like to do some scubadiving.

have heard verzasca should be the place to go.
however, all the people i know booked weekend diving packages from dive shops in bern or zurich. since i will already be in ticino what i'm looking for is the address of a reasonable local dive shop that does such trips.
could only make out http://www.swissdivingschool.ch/deutsch/SDS.htm but they don't seem to have any slots left for this summer.

about me:

Hi
I am going to be staying with a family just north of Konstanz for the first week in August, and we are leaving their holiday house on the Friday. I will be flying out of Zurich on the Saturday night (last check in 7.45pm so I guess I need to be in Zurich by about 6pm). I don't especially want to head straight to Zurich on the Friday as it's so expensive and I'd rather not be in a city until I have to. So I am looking for something to do either in the Konstanz area or on the way back. I like…
