I'm going to Switzerland from Munich for a week in mid-Septemeber. I'll be flying out of Geneva and am looking for ideas of where to go. Looking for good food, scenery, and things to do outdoors. Will be traveling by train and public transit.

Thanks for the advice.

We are spending a week in August based around Winterthur. Hope to spend a day in Zurch, probably looking at the historic sites rather than shopping, also a day or two away at some waterfalls and another in the mountains. Any suggestions please, nothing too fancy budget wise. Also, what to wear?? Obviously cold in the mountains but what can we expect elsewhere?? Many thanks.

May be 15 years ago I saw a film about illegal immigration to Switzerland. Turks already in Switzerland wrote a postcard to their relatives back home - sating that in Switzerland you got chocolate directly from the goats. The realtives sold everything they had needing the money for bribes on their way to the "promised" land. Their guide in Italy up in the Alps told them to walk on in the snow, finally they would be there, but they died in the snow. My question is, does anyone remember the title…

We have 2 days in Bernese oberland, and have the Bernese oberland regional pass.
We will be based in Lauterbrunnen, and start around 6:30am.
The plan is to come back to Kleine Sch. by 11:30am or so.
Rest of the day we want to travel on the gondolas/railcars etc., (which is free),
Next full day also we can take boat rides etc., on our regional pass.

Can you suggest some attractions (short hikes, lakes, waterfalls) we can see in these 2 days
already planned
1. Boat rides on Thun/Breinz
2. Ochensee lake…

We'll be spending 5 nights in the lake Geneva area and would gladly welcome suggestions as to which town we should use as our base. At first, our choice was Lausanne but some have told us that Bern is a much more beautiful town to stay in. We're not much into museums but more for scenic beauty and lovely restaurants.

Would appreciate some comments on those who have been to both places. Or would you recommend somewhere else in that area like Montreux?

Thanks.

I am planning a trip in the second half of April. I would like to go to the Swiss Alps. I know that the weather will be cool, but will the valleys be green in late April? Also, will the villages such as grindelwald be accesible? Thanks for your help

I would like to hike from Flims to Elm (passing the Segnespass), but how do I get back? Are there any busses from Elm to Flims or the other way around? Do I need to transfer? How often do busses go?

Hello,

I am in Zürich for a business trip, and i will have a free day exploring switzerland, with a flexipass from the train i could travel as i like. I would like to see a mountain, is there an easy reachable mountain peak. I look something similar to the german Zugspitze, accessable with a train or cable car. I would appreaciate if i could get as close as possible to the mountain area with my train pass, so mountain trains which are not part of the pass.

Other suggestions for interesting…
