Switzerland / Italy trip in September

We are planning a two-week trip in September: to Switzerland (1 week) and Italy (1-week)
- Would like to start from Zurich and end in Italy. Plan to hire a car to see country-side in Switzerland and hop-on to Bernina Express (various reviews recommend Bernina Express instead of Glacier Express)
- About Italy - do not know where to start and end but would like to see Venice, Rome, Vatican, Florence and city of Pisa
Grateful is someone suggests perfect itinerary

One week is far too little time for a "perfect" itinerary for those Italian destinations.
Or even a highly imperfect one.
I'd suggest picking 2 (the Vatican is basically a part of Rome).

You must be very reach if you can afford to pay for both, car rental and Swiss mountain railways.
