Dear readers,
My girlfriend and I are beginning to plan for a 3-7 day hiking trek in mid-June the Swiss/French Alps and I was hoping to get some feedback from others.
Here's what we're aiming for:
- varying levels of difficulty (i.e. moderately difficult climbs some days [we're in shape but not well-trained!], but very mild restful walks on others)
- beautiful mountain scenery
- wildlife if possible (chamois/ibex/others)
- alpine ponds (will they be tolerable for swimming?)
- appropriate place to stay for a whole day to relax
- minimal people
We've been thinking about doing some hut-to-hut hiking but will probably bring a tent for a couple nights.
Saying that, what are the rules/norms for wild camping assuming we set up our tents before dusk and have everything cleaned up right after dawn?
I'm assuming fires are strictly forbidden, at the very least.
Thanks for any help or redirections!
