Hello Everyone :-)

Can you provide me further suggestions /change in this plan for my family of four aged 40,38,7,1??

My plan goes like this:

Early morning of 14th May- Zurich Airport -->take the train to Zermatt ( 3 hrs?) --stay at Zermatt--Night no 1

15th May--Glacier express upto CHUR (reach there at 4 PM) then CHUR--> Luzern(2 hrs)--Over night at Luzern

16th May- Luzern-Mt Pilatus (whole day)

17th May- Luzern-within City, IMAX, Swiss Travel museums, the lion etc

18th and 19th- Interlaken (2 Nights ) with Jungfrough on day no 2

20th Morning--Leave for Paris either via TGV Lyria from Zurich or Basel/Bern

So basically 1N at Zermatt, 2 N at Interlaken and 3 N at Luzern

Thanks and regards

Can you provide me the cost for my family

No, we can't and we don't intend to. First of all, read the introductory part of the Western European FAQs: Research before asking a question. It will help you get better, more detailed and useful answers from the community if you've already done some homework. It's also polite. The community is here to help, but we're not your personal search engine. Invest some preliminary time and we'll help you fill in the gaps.

I would bin Interlaken for one of the nearby villages as they're far prettier. Interlaken is nothing special in itself, just a convenient local transport hub.

have you ever traveled with a 1 year old? I think you might be overly ambitious. Have you thought about sleeping and feeding arrangements for junior?

I second a_p and MTL. The Glacier Express ride is too long for young children, even if you cut one of the most attractive legs: Chur - St. Moritz.
After all the high mountains and glaciers of Zermatt, Jungfaujoch will bring nothing more: it will just be a waste of time and money (about 200 CHF/222 USD/pax).

Thanks for your suggestions. In any case, I will have to travel with my 1 yr old :) No way out and no problem managing her :) With Swiss Saver Family Pass of 5 days , Glacier Express will not be that costly? It will be CHF 4(33) minus the meals? or i am missing something

Do you think that your program will match the interests of your 7year old boy/girl? Some ideas:

SWiTZERLAND WITH CHILDREN

As public transport is rather expensive in Switzerland, study carefully the sites about Swiss Pass, Swiss Flexipass and Swiss half fare card: http://www.swisstravelsystem.ch/Tickets.16.0.html?&L=2#s_h_f_c

Check the Swiss Travel System Family Card
The Swiss Travel System Family Card is issued at no cost to parents who wish to take along their children under the age of 16 at no cost. Please note that at least one parent has to travel with the child/ren.
