Hi there,

My partner and I have 3 nights in Geneva (Sep 2012) and am hoping to spend one of the days doing a day trip to Gruyere. I am aware it is a 2 hour train journey either way, with at least one change.

Has anyone else done this day trip? Is it worth the 4 hours travel time? Also, are there guided tours from Geneva to Gruyere that may be a better option then heading up on our own?

Any insights or tips on this day trip would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much

Thre are guided tours from Montreux, with a special train along a very scenic itinerary. They include the visit of the Nestle chocolate factory of Broc, the cheese diary of Gruyeres and the castle and medieval city of Gruyeres.
