My sister and I will be traveling from Geneva to somewhere (open to suggestions) in the Berner Oberland region and then on to Zurich to catch a flight.

We are wanting to go up into the mountains and prefer to spend most of our time in Berner Oberland (only in Geneva & Zurich for airport)

This will be for only 3 days. We are considering a flexi-saver pass and was wanting to get suggestion on transportation and what town to stay in for our short trip.

Thanks!

to be helpful... we need a bit more info...

when? what month will you travel?

do your 3 days include your travel time?...
or do you have 3 days and 3 nights to spend there? plus travel time at each end.

what do you like to do?... hike?, ride a train/cable car in the mountains? parapente?

are you looking for quiet, or party nights... what age group?

do you have a budget/day?... hostels or hotel?

Most scenic itninerary: Geneva - steamboat (summer only) - Montreux - Goldenpass Express - Gstaad - Interlaken - Lucerne - Voralpen Express - Rapperswil - train to Effretikon - ZRH.

BTW: There are mountains everywhere, not only in Bernese Oberland. Mont Blanc and Matterhorn would be at least as easy to reach from GVA as the Bernese Oberland.
